Things I Think About Since Becoming a Mom:
- Nap schedules
- Sippy cups
- Overnight diapers
- Night weaning
- When will my hair stop falling out
- My child’s happiness and well-being
- Is Raffi sexy
These are obviously all important and complex subjects, but we’ll focus on that last one here.
Things that Raffi has Going for Him:
- He is author of the song “Bananaphone”
- Looks great in a Hawaiian shirt, which is not an easy thing to do
- Has innate ability to write a catchy hook that will delight children and adults alike
- Generally seems like a wonderful person
Things about Raffi that I am Unsure About:
- Not one hundred percent sure about the beard
- Might look TOO good in a Hawaiian shirt so that if we ever went out both wearing them, I would look hideous in comparison
- Sometimes I think the song “Shake My Sillies Out” is maybe just a bit TOO silly
I’ve watched roughly 4,000 Raffi videos on YouTube in the past year, so while I DO consider myself a Raffi expert, I need some outside opinions here. Guys? What are you thinking? I know you’re all busy, but come on. This is important. I need you.

I’ve been mulling this one over in some form or other since the summer of 1979, when I witnessed Raffi in the flesh during his ‘Corner Grocery Store’ tour. All I can say is, “Boom BOOM, ain’t it great to be crazy?” because let’s face it, that’s what his sexiness makes all of us: crazy! Also giddy and foolish all day long. Just sayin’.
