Welcome to the second installment of OOTD with Mother Haggard!

This week, we’re going monochromatic with one of spring’s hottest colors: PLUM.
Today’s Look: “I Dream of Diaper Genie”
A monochromatic plum sweatsuit is the perfect answer for when you want head-to-toe (H2T) elegance on the go.
To keep the look from veering into boring territory, we use carefully chosen accessories to add some depth and splashes of color.
Finish the look with a classic high ponytail, unbrushed teeth and an expression that conveys your total delirium.
If replicating this look, a few things to keep in mind:
- An aquamarine plastic sack containing used diapers doubles as a statement bag.
- Don’t be afraid to play with textures: the mustard stain on the sweatpants compliments the mud caked onto the boots and also the yogurt from breakfast still on your face.
- Sometimes the best accessories are the ones that only you know you’re wearing. Much like a pair of sexy underwear, out of season Christmas socks will add a sly spring to your step!
- Avoid wearing a sexy pair of underwear—this OOTD is best worn with a pair of huge maternity underwear purchased in a bulk pack from Walmart on the hottest day of summer.

Thanks so much, Velvet. I myself have several sweatsuits in many different colors. I would offer to let you borrow a few, but the majority are sitting in a dirty laundry hamper somewhere.
BUT! I can offer my suggestions for what colors are really IN this season for matching sweatsuits. When you are shopping, try to keep an eye out for: MAGENTA, CADET BLUE, BURNT SIENNA, PLUM and of course, GREEN. A white one would also be quite nice for the summer.
